museum late: ceol & craic
The adults-only event that gives you a chance to discover the Ulster Museum...Late and after hours!
The museum opened after hours and this time, we were part of the Fleadh Fringe Festival!
Visitors to the museum enjoyed live music, storytelling, food and bars, with immersive experiences throughout the galleries. This adults-only event had it all under one roof—perfect for heading straight from work.
Irish trad musicians performed throughout the art galleries, with music from Le Chéile in the Belfast Room fusing trad music with jazz and blues. Celebrations of Belfast craic & ceol featured excerpts from ‘Last Night’s Fun’ by Ciaran Carson and ‘As I Roved Out’ by Cathal O’Byrne, accompanied by some of Ireland’s leading trad musicians.
Visitors tried badge making, wove St Brigid’s crosses from willow and created metallic embossings of Celtic emblems, including Celtic knots and the claddagh. There was tote bag printing (£5 per tote), tunes from DJ Chris Frieze, face painting and music in the Cave Rave, plus the opportunity to have a portrait taken by PicStory Belfast.
Tickets were £10.
