American artists have engaged with both the popular culture of the American Scene and the Modernism of the European avant-garde. From James McNeill Whistler and Winslow Homer to Georgia O’Keefe, Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol this series of illustrated talks will examine the development of American art from the late nineteenth to the mid twentieth century.
