Come along to this Dragonflies Identification course at Oxford Island on Thursday 27th July, and learn how to identify the variety of species that occur on the Brackagh Bog site. 

Learn how to identify the variety of dragonflies species  that occur on Brackagh Bog with Mr Robert Thompson. Robert will provide an introduction to the dragonflies species found in Ireland, before exploring the features used to identify dragonflies. Finish off your day with a visit to Brackagh Bog and look out for dragonfly species to identify!

Please note:

  • This course will take place in the Annaloiste Room, Discovery Centre, at Oxford Island
  • This course is open to adults with an interest in Odonata biodiversity and recording.
  • All levels of species identification experience are welcome.
  • Suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor fieldwork is essential. Bring along your net if you have one.
  • Please bring a packed lunch as we will be out in the field most of the day.
