Join us for this special talk by Marie Therese Rogers-Moloney based on her book For the Sins of My Mother. Marie Therese was placed in Nazareth House Children’s Home in Belfast when she was two years old. In her book, she describes some of her experiences growing up in Nazareth House where she was cruelly treated. Marie Therese goes on to trace her journey from Nazareth House to finding her mother and her place in the world.

Marie Therese is candid in speaking about her experiences, the adoption and her time spent in Nazareth House. She references the cruelty, lack of love, support, guidance, education and the continued fear she had in the whole seventeen years she was there. Come along to hear her reflections on discovering family members and on the HIA Enquiry in 2014 to 2016.

Nazareth House Orphanage was investigated as part of the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry into physical, emotional and sexual childhood abuse and childhood neglect which occurred in residential institutions in Northern Ireland.
