Explore real objects and investigate different historical periods and world cultures through a selection of artefacts. Learn how people lived in the past and why history has a relevance to people today. 

Take a look at some of the activities always available at Discover History:

• Solve 3D puzzles by putting our replica prehistoric skull and pot back together again and try our matching game on the time period wall. 
• Peer into our dolls houses decorated to showcase different periods of history, 
• Play with toys from the past and dress up in outfits from years gone by. 
• Step into the shoes of past warriors as you try on a gauntlet and handle real chainmail! 
• Code your own message at the hieroglyphic rubbing table or follow the mystery object shadow trail. 

Discovery Centres are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. Please enquire on arrival as it may not always be possible to gain access to all or some of the centres during your visit.
