Explore real objects and investigate different historical periods and world cultures through a selection of artefacts. Learn how people lived in the past and why history is relevant to people today.

Take a look at some of the activities always available at Discover History:

• Solve our 3D puzzles by reconstructing our replica skull and pot.
• Try our matching game on the time period wall. 
• Peer into our dolls houses showcasing different periods of history.
• Play with toys from the past and dress up in our replica outfits. 
• Code your own message at the hieroglyphic rubbing table. 

As part of Good Relations Week, from Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd September, our three Discovery Centres will extend the ‘Objects Tell Stories’ project. 

Connect with people from the past through artefacts from a range of historical periods every day from 2pm to 3pm in Discover History. 

Discovery Centres are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. Please enquire on arrival as it may not always be possible to gain access to all or some of the centres during your visit.
